We Have Moved! Isn’t that a fun thought much less experience. Nothing reveals how long you have lived somewhere or how much junk you have accumulated more than having to move it all. After 9 years at our first location for Fall Creek Skin and Health Clinic, 556 Trejo, we had an opportunity to move across the parking lot to a newer building that was actually better designed and suited for us than our first location that was purpose build for and by me. We owe the great design of our new clinic to Seasons Medical here in Rexburg. The first tenant was Optometrist Shawn Galbraith. He designed a great office but the theme was optometry with a large front area to display new glasses. It turned out to be more space than he needed. When Seasons came in, they torn down some walls, added sinks, added some exam rooms, and partitioned it in a way that would improve patient privacy and confidentiality. When we heard that they were leaving for their new building, we felt it was time to move to a larger, better designed office. The other advantage for us was that we would buy that portion of the building instead of renting. This would prove to our patients that we are going to be here for a long time. It would also lower our overhead costs allowing us to avoid increasing our rates and make it possible to keep our health care costs low. Obama would love us! We just finished our first day on the new office which is locateat 534 Trejo Ste 400 in Rexburg.
I still park in the same spot as I did before, but patients will now park to the right when they drive into the parking lot instead of going straight. We are hoping it is not too confusing to everyone. So far today, it all went smooth except for one patient that showed up wanting to see a midwife(Seasons Medical), we told her how to get to their new location. The other issue that is strange in this day and age is that we don’t have an integrated sound system like we had in the old clinic, so we have no back ground music. This may not seem like that big of a deal, but with higher cealings and no music we feel like we are in a tunnel and everything echos. One of the nice features that Seasons put in though was seals that go under the doors so that the exam rooms are almost sound proof, it is just the waiting room and the halls that carry the sound. I am searching for an appropriate sound system to put in that will not be very expensive but will add to the ambience and privacy of the clinic. In the coming weeks we will be doing some advertizing to announce our move. I also have been doing presentations and handing out cards and coupons at the places that need to know. All part of the fun of running a service oriented business. I love it!!
